Information Concerning the GCPS Parent Portal

Gwinnett County Public Schools will be starting the activation process for the Parent Portal beginning in late January.  The activation will be a staggered roll-out and begin with High Schools.  At this point, Lanier Middle School is slated to be activated on or around Feb. 26th.  In mid February we will send out a mass email testing the accuracy and validity of the email addresses we have on record for those of you who have signed up for Portal Access.

You will receive, via email, the "token" to access your child's information on the 26th of February, or the date in which we are activated.  If you do not have an email address you will need to come to the school to pick up your information at the front desk.  If you have not registered, but would like to, please visit the Parent Center on our Homepage to access the registration form.

Teachers will continue to send grade updates via email as they have done in the past until we are "live" with the portal.

Environmental News

Lanier, along with other schools, is participating in Georgia's Clean Air Campaign. A major part of this is the "Clean Air Schools" program. Our school will be conducting a No-Idling Program, the goal of which is to reduce harmful emissions from idling vehicles on the school campus. The exhaust from buses & cars emit harmful air pollution, toxins, & known carcinogens. These pollutants, unhealthy to breath, make children especially vulnerable with their developing lungs & are known to aggravate childhood asthma. Help us in our future surveys by : 1> Making sure our students walk or ride a bike to & from school if it is safe to do so 2> Car-pool whenever possible & 3> Making sure that cars in our car rider lane are turned off while not moving, so they do NOT needlessly idle.
