GCPS announces plan for making up lost instructional time due to inclement weather.
On 2/24/13 GCPS announced that we will be adding 30 minutes to the school day from Monday, March 3 through Wednesday, May 14 to make up days missed due to inclement weather. While figuring out how to make up additional days is always a complicated process, we are truly excited about the method in which we will be making up our additional time. The schedule includes instructional minutes added on to the end of the core academic day. These additional minutes will allow teachers time for extensions, greater instructional depth as well as being afforded time to spend on CRCT preparation. Later in the year, time will be used to preview for the next academic year as well as test taking skills.

I want to.....
April 15, 2014
Only four and half weeks until school ends! Every year seems to fly by quicker than the previous year as high school is right around the corner for our 8th graders. I wanted to remind you of some of the important upcoming activities that are on the horizon.
Progress Reports were originally scheduled to go home on Wednesday, April 15. Due to the change in the calendar as a result of the inclement weather, these reports will go out April 23. As always, you can get a more exact update on your child’s progress by going on the parent portal.
